Upgrading From RentTracker Lite

  Upgrading Basics

  Upgrading to another version of RentTracker is very quick and easy. You can upgrade to RentTracker or RentTracker Pro. RentTracker allows you to enter ten tenants. RentTracker Pro allows you to enter an unlimited* number of tenants.

Buying The Upgrade

  Once you have chosen which version of RentTracker (RentTracker or RentTracker Pro.). The next step is to order it at www.RentTracker.com.

  You can buy it on CD or purchase the License Key and download it online.

  If you purchase the download version, you must download RentTracker Lite (if you haven't already) and enter the License Key that you will receive via email.

  If you order the CD you will receive the RentTracker Lite on CD and a License Key.

  Once the RentTracker Lite is installed on you computer the final step is to go to the Tool drop down menu and click on Upgrade.

  Enter the License Key that you received from RentTracker.com and then press enter. This will unlock your RentTracker program.

*There are no preprogrammed limits in RentTracker Pro. The actual number of tenants depends on your computer hardware and Microsoft Access limitations.

Upgrading to the New Release of RentTracker*

Upgrading to the latest version of RentTracker is easy and simple.

  The first step is to verify that your version is upgradable at www.RentTracker.com.

  Backup your Database. (See Backup your Database)

  Download the latest version of RentTracker Lite at: www.RentTracker.com

  Uninstall RentTracker using control panel’s add/remove programs.

  Install the new version of RentTracker Lite.

  Copy your backed-up copy of renttracker.mdb into C:\Program Files\RentTracker\ (or whichever directory you installed RentTracker in.)

Checking For Upgrades

  Checking for the newest version of RentTracker is very easy. Look under the Help drop down menu and click on the "About RentTracker…" This will show you what version and what release of RentTracker you have running on your computer.

 

Now look under the Tool drop down menu and if you are connected to the internet click on "Check for Newer Versions". This will open a web-browser to www.RentTracker.com

  Look on the home page and the Download page for the latest version of RentTracker.

Sign Up To Report Tenants

  Click on the drop down Tool menu and click on "Sign up to Report Tenants".

  This will open a web-browser to http://www.renthistory.com/signup.php?referrer=renttracker

  Follow the instructions on the Web-Site about how to sign up.

  Click on the drop down Tool menu and click on "Report Tenant" in the main window.

  This will open a warning box and will summarize the information that is about to be sent to www.renthistory.com.

  You should double check all the information on the screen is correct. When you are sure that information is correct click the "Continue with Upload". If you have any doubts click on the Cancel and recheck the information.

  This will open up a web-browser to https://www.renthistory.com/upload/renttracker/ftx.php . Log in and follow the instructions on line to complete the reporting process.
